At the 70th annual Golden Globes, glamorous nails were the ultimate accessory. Three of the night's biggest stars --Naomi Watts, Jennifer Lawrence and singer Adele -- manicurists turned to Sally Hansen to create their signature nail looks for the red carpet.

Naomi Watts
Celebrity nail expert Tracey Sutter created the look for Watts, nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture--Drama. Tracey used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Arm Candy to create a natural effect.

To get the look, Sutter filed down Naomi's nails
very short before applying Sally Hansen's Cuticle Instant Remover. Next, Sutter applied 2 coats of Sally Hansen's new Complete Salon Manicure

Nail Color in Arm Candy - giving Watts just the right amount of color she wanted.

Jennifer Lawrence

April Foreman was the expert behind Lawrence's nail look, using Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Sheer Ecstasy for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture--Comedy or Musical nominee.

To get the look, Foreman shaped Lawrence’s nails “sqound” giving both a square and round look. Keeping her hands hydrated, Foreman applied Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect Hand Crème before applying 2 coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Sheer Ecstasy.

Adele
Celebrity Manicurist, Kimmie Kyees used on Adele a sheer coat of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in So Much Fawn with two coats of Complete Salon Manicure in Copper Penny layered on top. Kyees finished off the look with an exclusive topcoat created for tonight that had gold in it to help enhance the color in Copper Penny for the best Original Song, Film nominee.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure is an all-in-one formula that combines all the 7 benefits of a professional salon manicure—a base coat, a strengthener, a growth treatment, rich color, top coat, gel-like shine and chip resistance —in a single multi-tasking polish ($7.99).

Golden Globes 2013 Get the Look: Naomi Watts

There's no denying that the red carpet at this year's Golden Globes was truly on fire.  Everything from their locks to their lashes, their finger tips to their toes were decked out and sparkling.  Hair stylist Giannadrea Marongiu walks us through her look for actress Naomi Watts using products from Matrix

HAIRSTYLIST: Giannandrea Marongiu
INSPIRATION: Going into the night, both stylist Giannandrea Marongiu and Naomi Watts knew they wanted to create a classic look. He turned to old Hollywood greats, such as Carole Lombard, for inspiration, creating a faux, side-swept bob. Describing the look as “a bit more modern than old-Hollywood,” Giannandrea gently brushed out the curls for an updated take on a classic style.

STEP-BY-STEP:
STEP 1: Starting with wet hair, sprayed Matrix Total Results Blonde Care Flash Filler ($16, Available in February)evenly throughout the hair before blow drying in order to “enhance and bring out Naomi’s blonde color”
STEP 2: Applied Matrix Total Results Amplify Foam Volumizer ($15) throughout the roots and partially down the length to create volume and all-night hold
STEP 3: Using a medium round brush, blow dried hair in sections to create soft fullness
STEP 4: Created a deep side part
STEP 5: Curled hair using a ½ inch curling iron, gently spraying Matrix Total Results Amplify Hairspray ($15) on each section before curling to gently and softly hold the curls while also providing shine
STEP 6: Gently brushed out hair so waves were soft, feminine and modern
STEP 7: Put Matrix Design Pulse Mega Dust ($15) on a boar bristle brush and brushed through hair very gently in order to stretch the waves and give it texture
STEP 8: Taking a pea-size amount of Biolage ExquisiteOil Replenishing Treatment ($22), gently ran hands over hair to tame flyaways and provide a subtle, weightless shine
STEP 9: Tied rubber band halfway down the length and folded hair up and under in order to create a faux bob; pinned hair in place at the nape of the neck so pins did not show
STEP 10: Shaped the waves around the face in order to finish off the classic Hollywood look

Winter Skincare Tips From Dr. Jody Levine

Hello my beauties! I want to apologize because I know I haven't had a chance to post in a while.  I was feeling a bit under the weather and have since been trying to catch up on things.  Below is are fabulous winter tips that was passed along to me, so read up and enjoy!

As the Director of Dermatology at Plastic Surgery & Dermatology of NYC board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Jody Levine knows winter is rough on our delicate skin, so she has put together some fantastic tips to help us brave those treturous months.  Using some key products from Algenist and healthy tips, you can keep your skin soft and glowing this season.

Cleanse: Your skincare routine each day should start and end with the use of a cleanser, so it is crucial to use one that is both dependable and hydrating. Often times cleansers can be too aggressive which can cause short-term and long-term damage to skin. It is important to use a gentle face wash to awaken the skin and leave it clean and restored. The Algenist Gentle Rejuvenating Cleanser ($25, Algenist.com) digs deep to remove makeup and dirt, but remains gentle enough not to dry out the skin. Skin is instantly left smoothed, revived and radiant while the protective cells skin needs are left in place. (Review to come!)

Reduce Wrinkles: We all know that skin needs to be cleansed, moisturized and exfoliated on a regular basis, but the addition of a power-house serum into your skincare regime can quickly and effectively improve your skin’s health, in addition to solving a number of cosmetic problems. Serums not only moisturize, rejuvenate, lift and nourish skin; they also fight wrinkles and lines and help diminish the appearance of dark spots – all in just a few drops a day. Serums can also help boost the amount of collagen within the skin and provide much-needed nutrients to help counteract the signs of aging. Algenist’s Concentrated Reconstructing Serum ($95, Algenist.com) is a favorite among many experts due to the clinically-proven decrease in wrinkles and increase in skin density and radiance which you’ll see in just 10 days of use. It is a staple in my daily skincare routine.

Moisturize: You don’t have to be a dermatologist to understand the importance of using a moisturizer, but what’s harder to recognize is the importance of finding the right moisturizer for your skin type. During the winter months, skin inevitably becomes dry, thus bringing to life a number of unwanted issues – from cracked skin and dehydration, to aging and wrinkles, dry skin is an issue that cannot be ignored. The Regenerative Anti-Aging Moisturizer ($90, Algenist.com)from Algenist is a moisturizer like no other. The luxurious and moisturizing formula hydrates skin while also rebuilding firmness and elasticity. With regular use, the Regenerative Anti-Aging Moisturizer is proven to minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pores leaving skin revived and hydrated.
Bright-Eyed: Eyes are one of the first places that aging really shows, and unfortunately fine lines and wrinkles begin to appear in the delicate areas around your eyes much sooner than expected, taking many by surprise. But fear not! These lines can be slowed – or stopped – with the use of topical creams designed to moisturize, protect and reduce wrinkles. Build the usage of an eye cream into your routine each morning and evening as they really can improve the quality of skin around your eyes within weeks. Algenist’s Complete Eye Renewal Balm ($65, Algenist.com)is the perfect cream to lock water into the skin keeping it moisturized and firm, help diminish dark circles, puffiness and eye contours in just four weeks of daily use.

Julep's Latest "No Mess Moisturizer"

Is it just me or does Julep's  newest "No Mess Moisturizer"  look incredibly mouth watering?  (Maybe it's my obsession with pink) but I can't wait to get my hands on it!  A nourishing blend of vitamins C & E, combined with shea butter and sweet almond oil, this "hand and cuticle stick" sounds almost too good to be true.
I love the idea of it's convenient (pink) packing and it's promised yummy scent.  Easy enough to apply to the backs of hands and your cuticles, it must make for easy travel and application.  I have yet to try it but I imagine it must make manicures easier as well.  Instead of going over your nails with a cloth to remove excess lotion from your massage, before your apply your polish, you can strategically apply it around the cuticle without hitting the nail.  Your hands and nails can stay soft and smooth without the added fuss.

Retail: $22.00

I totally want to try this!  What do you think?  Will you be trying Julep's newest "lip balm" for the hands??
