Review: MAYA CHIA Supercritical Omega- 3 Chia Face Oil

My constant dry skin keeps me open to trying various body oils.  But sometime I can't help but wonder what (if any) real difference there is between the 50 oils that I have stock piled in my bathroom.

Retail: $60.00

Well, now I can say that at least one stands out.  MAYA CHIA  uses a patented process to extract the oil called supercritical extraction. The gentle oxygen-free, solvent-free process results in oil with a total absence of chemical residues and impurities, and one that most closely mirrors the chemical profile of the plant. Translation?  It's considered the best, purest, most stable, effective, and potent chia oil in the market.

I own other oils that I thought absorbed quickly, but they all pale in comparison.  When I applied the Maya Chia Supercritical Omega- 3 Chia Face Oil, my skin drank up it up in a flash.  It's so lightweight that I was able to apply my makeup just minutes later without any greasy residue.  It was awesome.  The scent is light too.  A refreshing blend of nature with a hint of sweetness.

It definitely has that silky, lux texture that makes your skin feel soothed and nourished. The Supercritical line is advertised as good for all skin types and also helps fight anti- aging.  It doesn't cause me to breakout and I love the way it makes my skin look more even toned and healthy.  This is truly my favorite oil in my whole collection.

Millesima USA Hosts Exclusive Summer Wine Tasting

Millesima USA  recently held an exclusive wine tasting event hosted by it's very own GM, Hortense Bernard, at the chic Kola House in downtown Manhattan.

Bernard shared her top three picks for the upcoming summer:

Alphonse Mellot: Edmond Sancerre:
Underneath its yellow robe with brilliant green highlights, Edmond 2012 delivers a majestic and rich nose. It releases aromas of licorice and fresh cut grass underlined by notes of honey, citrus and brioche. On the palate this Sancerre is flavorful and rich. The flavors touch on lime and vanilla. The finish is long and spiced with characteristics carved from limestone. After several long years in the cellar, Edmond 2012 will deliver delicate mineral, toasty and buttery notes.

The Edmond is smooth and creamy, with a bit of a punch.  The spiced taste is crisp and exhilarating.  An ideal choice for your annual summer kick off party.

Chateau Peyrassol:
This blend comes from the oldest grapes in the domaine. Their low yield produces full-bodied grapes which bear the hallmark qualities of the terroir. Its subtle nose of citrus, vine peach, apricot and fine floral notes is inviting. It has a beautiful, dense palate, delicate and lively, and is notable for its balance and full body, punctuated by a long, fruity finish.

The Chateau is gorgeous and I could drink this no matter the season.  The taste is addictive and satisfying.  It's fruity and sweet and works well for large gatherings like pool parties, or holiday celebrations like the upcoming Fourth of July.  It is available in the brand's popular large format bottle and makes serving at parties that much easier.

Drappier: Brut Nature Rose, Champagne:
Made with 100% Pinot Noir grapes in the saignee method, which involves bleeding off the juice after a brief contact with the Pinot Noir skins. This 100% Brut Nature Rose is aromatically expressive with notes of strawberry and raspberry, with a hint of rose petal. The palate is red fruit driven with citrus notes, mandarin orange and a subtle savory note of white pepper.

The Champagne was of course, my favorite.  The fruit and rose petal mixture offers a lovely summer twist and added dimension.  The taste is fruity but not over done.  It's crisp and refreshing and leaves a lingering warmth.  It's perfect for a weekend getaway in the Hamptons, or an elegant summer garden party.

New Release: Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina in Fiore

This month Salvatore Ferragamo debuted its brand new fragrance; Signorina in Fiore.

Designed to celebrate young women full of joy and romance, it was impossible not to fall in love with this one.  The scent is from the Olfactive Family (floral/fruity) which is my all time favorite.  And naturally the adorable, Spring- like packaging nearly melted my little heart.

Retail: $92.00 (100 ml)

Notes:
Top: Nashi Pear Sorbet and Pomegranate
Heart: Jasmine, Cherry Blossom
Dry down: White Musk and Sandalwood

These notes are everything I could want in a fragrance.  I'm addicted to the sweetness of Cherry Blossom and Jasmine, mixed with a pop of juicy Pomegranate.  It's reminiscent of enjoying Cherry Blossoms in first bloom, or the season's first glass of sparkling rose.  Described as the prefect blend of "femininity and charm",  it's flirty and fun in a soft, subtle way.

The packaging is stunning.  Inspired by the colorful petals of a blooming flower, it pays homage to the femininity and grace of a woman.  The vivid pink bottle, is detailed with a pink- gold cap and an iconic pink Vara bow in gros grain. The signature Signorina packaging on the outside is also evident, and blends a variety of romantic pinks.

All of my fragrances are displayed on decorative shelves along my wall, but it'd be a crime not to put this one front and center on my vanity.

Have you tried Signorina in Fiore?  What did you think?
